3. Age Requirements
Infants and toddlers are not permitted.
Children under 8 are generally not permitted and may attend only where
prior written approval has been obtained from
Cat Cafe Melbourne before making a booking.
These requirements are intended to manage supervision, safety and animal
welfare risks within an environment containing free-roaming resident cats.
The person making the booking is responsible for ensuring that every
participant included in the booking meets our applicable age requirements.
By completing a booking and attending the venue, the customer confirms
that any information provided about a child’s age is
truthful and accurate.
Where reasonably necessary, our team may ask a parent or guardian to
verbally confirm whether a child meets the age requirement.
We do not routinely request or retain proof-of-age documents.
A staff observation that a child may not meet the age requirement may
result in further clarification being requested from the accompanying
parent or guardian. Observation alone will not be treated as conclusive
proof of a child’s age.
If a genuine concern cannot be resolved, Cat Cafe Melbourne may ask the
parent or guardian to sign a declaration confirming that the child meets
the published age requirement. Where the parent or guardian declines to
provide confirmation, management may refuse entry, subject to applicable
law.
For children nearing 8 years of age, a parent or guardian may contact us
before making a booking to request written approval.
Approval is at the discretion of Cat Cafe Melbourne and will only be
considered where appropriate supervision arrangements are in place and
the child can comply with our applicable safety and house rules.
If approval is granted, a
signed waiver is required before entry, and the child
must remain under
close adult supervision at all times.
Important: Making a booking before receiving written
approval does not guarantee entry. If a participant does not meet the
published age requirements, prior approval was not obtained, or materially
inaccurate information was provided, entry may be refused and the normal
booking conditions will apply. This does not exclude any rights that cannot
lawfully be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law.
